Creative Five Senses Activities for Preschool and Kindergarten

This is such a fun topic to explore with children because they are already using their five senses all day long!

We use our eyes to see, ears to hear, nose to smell, tongue to taste, and skin to touch and feel. These senses help children understand and make sense of the world around them.

Whether they’re describing something as soft or rough, identifying a sound, or talking about a familiar smell, children are naturally curious about how their senses work.

Before I begin my lesson, I like to introduce this song to my kids. Then, we play a modified version of the game “I spy…”

I incorporate all five senses into this game! “I spy with my eyes… I hear with my ears… (and so on).” The children take turns filling in the sentences verbally.
