Prepare for the exciting arrival of a new pet!
 
Before bringing home their favourite pet, planning is needed. What does their pet need to survive and thrive? Fill the box with pet supplies! This resource is designed to engage children in learning about responsible pet care and empathy.
 
You can use this resource for a large group lesson or as an individual activity. This works well before a Dramatic Play activity too!  
 
What’s inside:
- 1 box cover page (to paste onto the front of the box)
- 2 foldable inner box templates (brown and white*)
*can be used for drawing instead of pasting
- 6 pages of pet supplies (to cut and paste)
 
Once the boxes are filled, children can share their creations in a show-and-tell session. To add an element of fun, classmates can guess which pet their peer is preparing for based on their supplies.
 
Note: You may want to use pet clipart printouts, pet pictures, or pet plushies and craft alongside this activity (not included in this set).
